The things I can think of today to write about are really short and really random. So I figured I might as well write about all five of them. I apologize in advance that today isn’t as fun or thought-provoking as previous days.
I had a dream last night that I went shopping at Goodwill and then misplaced the bag of clothing I bought. I spent the remainder of the dream looking for that stupid bag of clothes. I woke up before I found it, which was very irritating because all I wanted to do was know where in the world I put it. This meant that I was grumpy when I woke up.
There is a family a couple of blocks from us who just painted their light peachy house a lovely purple. It makes me so happy every time I drive by. I am considering making them banana bread or something to thank them for the influx of joy they have brought to my life, but also realize that might be kind of creepy.
The following is a public service announcement to all Rochester drivers. Don’t change lanes in the middle of intersections. Do not turn right from a left-hand lane, or left from a right-hand lane. Do not drive 15 miles per hour on an expressway entrance ramp. (You like what I did there just for the people up here? I called it an expressway, not a highway, which is actually the right term.) If you are parking on the side of a street, please park on the side of the street rather than just throwing it in park right smack dab in the middle of the road. And please consult the diagram below if you are unsure of how to make a left-hand turn correctly on a multi-lane road.
I ordered some SmartWool cushioned socks from Sierra Trading Post last week that came in the mail today. It really is heartbreaking that I’ve never owned a pair of these before. My feet are all snuggled in and toasty warm and they are quite happy with me.
Every year for Ryan’s birthday we go see a movie, except for last year (Eli was 6 weeks old, which means I have no idea what we did for Ryan’s birthday, if anything). We always go see a movie for my birthday too. The main difference in the movie selections is that Ryan’s birthday is in February and mine is in June; in February the good movies that are out are all Academy Award contenders (read: most likely depressing) and in June the good movies are either big blockbusters or animated movies. This means that on my birthday we’ve seen things like Brave, X-Men 2, How to Train Your Dragon, and Toy Story 3. On Ryan’s birthday we’ve seen movies such as No Country for Old Men, True Grit, Pan’s Labyrinth, and now Argo. No deep thoughts about this or anything – I just think it’s a very entertaining dichotomy. At least to me.
Now that I’m reading what I’ve written, I think I should probably just go to bed because I don’t have much worthwhile to say. (Except that killer diagram that I made in Paint – that was pretty great: funny and true.) Here’s hoping I come up with something good for tomorrow; otherwise all of you good people reading this in your RSS feeds are going to unsubscribe. Sorry, and good night!
